Happy Huludays: Christmas Movies Streaming on Hulu

Happy Huludays! Hulu has unwrapped its annual holiday lineup for the 2023 season, revealing 24 new and classic Christmas movies available to stream starting November 2. The seasonal slate includes the premieres of A Christmas Frequency (starring Denise Richards), Dolly Parton’s A Country Christmas Story, and Every Day Is Christmas (a gender-bent twist on A Christmas Carol), which can be found in Hulu’s holiday hub alongside new movies Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Reporting for Christmas, Merry Liddle Christmas, and The Jingle Bell Jubilee. Additionally, Hulu is marking the iconic anniversaries of four festive favorites: Elf (20th Anniversary), Four Christmases (15th Anniversary), Jack Frost (25th Anniversary), and Die Hard (35th Anniversary). 

Whether you’re the type to yell “cotton-headed ninny muggins” or “yippee-ki-yay” (you know the rest), Hulu has these Christmas movies and more. ADAM SANDLER’S EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS (2002)

Davey Stone (Adam Sandler), a 33-year old party animal, finds himselfin trouble with the law after his wild ways go too far. In keeping withthe holiday spirit, the judge gives Davey one last chance at redemption– spend the holiday performing community service as the assistantreferee for the youth basketball league or go to jail. Davey thinks he’sgotten off easy until he meets Whitey Duvall, the eccentric, elf-likehead referee.

DECK THE HALLS (2006)

Steve (Matthew Broderick), suburban dad and Christmas enthusiast,finds a wrinkle in his well-ordered existence with the arrival of hisnew neighbor Danny (Danny DeVito). Danny has big dreams and plans toilluminate his house with enough holiday lights to make it visible fromspace. Not to be outdone, Steve declares a war of one-upmanship withDanny that threatens to drag the Christmas spirit through the slush.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1947)

In this Christmas classic, an old man going by the name of KrisKringle (Edmund Gwenn) fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy’sannual Thanksgiving Day parade. Kringle proves to be such a hit that heis soon appearing regularly at the chain’s main store in midtownManhattan. When Kringle surprises customers and employees alike byclaiming that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case todetermine his mental health and, more importantly, his authenticity.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1994)

Six-year-old Susan Walker (Mara Wilson) is skeptical of the Christmasmyth surrounding Santa Claus, a trait she perhaps learned from hermother, Dorey (Elizabeth Perkins). When tasked with hiring the Santa whowill pose with kids at Macy’s, Dorey enlists a man with the curiousname of Kris Kringle (Richard Attenborough) who claims to be Santahimself. His assertions are met with scoffs and threats ofinstitutionalization, but a young lawyer, along with Susan and Dorey,comes to his defense.

THE FAMILY STONE (2005)

Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) wants to bring his girlfriend,Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker), to meet his bohemian Connecticutfamily at Christmas. Straitlaced Meredith, feeling she needs backup,asks her sister Julie (Claire Danes) to come along. Hoping to win theapproval of her boyfriend’s parents Sybil (Diane Keaton) and Kelly(Craig T. Nelson) and the rest of the family, instead Meredith succeedsonly in highlighting her uptight personality and making Everett doubthis intentions.

THE HOLIDAY (2006) — Until November 30

Dumped and depressed, English rose Iris (Kate Winslet) agrees to swaphomes with similarly unlucky in love Californian Amanda (Cameron Diaz)for a much-needed break. Iris finds herself in a palatial Hollywoodmansion while Amanda navigates the lanes of a picture-perfect Englishvillage. Soon enough, both lovelorn ladies bump into local lads perfectfor a romantic pick-me-up.

THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL (1992)

The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit theFrog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy EbenezerScrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppets — Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bearand Sam the Eagle — weave in and out of the story, while Scroogereceives visits from spirits of three Christmases — past, present andfuture. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but themiserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.

THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE (2006)

Christmas cheer turns into holiday chaos when Scott Calvin (TimAllen), aka Santa, invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret, Alan Arkin) for avisit and must, simultaneously, contend with Jack Frost’s (Martin Short)scheme to take over the North Pole. Scott, his family and Head ElfCurtis must join forces to foil the nefarious plot.

Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Poleas a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Unable toshake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult Buddy travels to NewYork, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens,this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNAtest proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationshipwith the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.

DIE HARD (1988) — Until November 30

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting hisestranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. Hejoins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-ownedbusiness she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a groupof terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it.Very soon McClane realizes that there’s no one to save the hostages –but him.

FOUR CHRISTMASES (2008) — Streaming November 23

As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have aperfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (BeverlyD’Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line,including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awryquickly. His hick cousin, Eddie (Randy Quaid), and his family show upunplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property.Even worse, Clark’s employers renege on the holiday bonus he needs.
